Branding

Graphic Standards Manual

2023

When I first began at HOIST Fitness, they had been in business for over 45 years and did not have a Graphics Standards Manual (GSM)/ Brand Guidelines. I took initiative and started to create one. At this time assets/branding that was being used wasn't consistent. Dealers, employees, and the marketing team all had different assets–frankly, it was the wild west.

With permission from the CEO, COO, and the marketing manager, I began the task. I first started with establishing correct logo use, colors, and typography. My goal was to modernize the brand yet keep it similar enough to what they had so that they did not have to spend thousands on a full rebrand. I created templates for documents, presentations, letterheads, pricelists, etc. (See project titled: Brochure/Spec Sheets for a great example of the templates in use).

Immediately after I was tasked to begin business cards. The main issue was the original cards had a custom die cut which led to a very high cost when printing. I changed the cards to a standard shape and made a QR code that would create a contact when scanned. This feature really helped HOIST employees stand out at conventions, installs, and meetings.

This project is still an ongoing process filled with even more content. Unfortunately, I cannot share most of it due to an NDA. I really enjoy helping companies implement brand standards and become more cohesive.
